grilled broccoli with lemon and herbs

This is absolute best way to prepare our new best friend broccoli.  Don't believe me? Try it and you'll see.

It is so simple there is no excuse not to give it a whirl. You say you don't have a grill?  No problem. This can be made in a grill pan or even a regular frying pan.  You can even leave out the lemon and herbs if you don't have them handy, because it is just as fab with just olive oil and salt and pepper.

grilled broccoli with lemon and herbs

    Prep time / cook time
    5 minutes / 10-15 minutes

    Serves
    2-3 people

    Ingredients

1 head of organic broccoli, top chopped off into florets
    1 lemon, juiced
    extra virgin olive oil
    salt & pepper
4-5 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves removed
a pinch of herbs de provence

    Directions

    • In a bowl, toss the broccoli florets with a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, half of the lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
    • Using a grill, grill pan or frying pan: evenly distribute the broccoli and cook over medium-high heat. Cook for 10-15 minutes, turning only once or twice, allowing the broccoli to brown and caramelize on each side.
    • Place in a serving bowl and add the other half of the lemon juice, the thyme and herbs de provence {adjust seasoning as desired}. Give it one good toss to combine.

    Enjoy.
