I had the best time this weekend handing out pieces of my flourless olive oil chocolate cake.... feeding people + connecting with others over food is a favorite part of what I do..... and feeding myself is close second;) which is why I’m very excited to come home to this freezer meal tonight. Ever since the butternut squash came around, I’ve been making a riff on the butternut squash baked pasta recipe from @bonappetitmag / @healthy_ish .... using @cappellos lasagna sheets (instead of rigatoni)... I also left out the dairy, but I added some garlic chips + hazelnuts + crispy sage on top, because it feels like the right time to do so🍁

Hi👋🏻... it’s me, sitting at my kitchen table in my apartment after signing a stack of cookbooks... in the same spot where I wrote and edited most of these pages, and where we took most of the photographs.... and, of course, it’s the place where many of the meals that I cook from this book and elsewhere are shared with family + friends. It’s one of my happiest corners and it’s filled with so many memories.
And, speaking of the cookbook, I’ll be at the @sobeseafoodfest in Miami all day tomorrow signing books + handing out bites of my olive oil chocolate cake, so if you’re in the area I’d love to see you❤️

I’m not sure that there’s a better sweet duo than chocolate + peanut (or almond) butter.... and I’m not sure that there’s a better way to eat them together than in a cup form.... and then these new, mini chocolate phyllo cups by @athens_foods came around and might be the only thing that could improve upon the most perfect sweet bite ... oh, actually, maybe there is one more thing ... some crunchy, flakey sea salt on top 🍫🍫🍫 (recipe for these, below) #sponsored .

Salted Chocolate Almond Butter Cups with Chocolate Phyllo Shells
1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips or chunks (60-70% cacao)
1/2 cup of smooth almond butter
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
45 @athens_foods chocolate phyllo cups
flaky sea salt
Heat/melt the chips over a double broiler until smooth and creamy. Spoon a small amount of the melted chocolate into the bottom of the shell (don’t fill more than half). Place them in the fridge or freezer to set. While they are setting, mix together the ingredients for the almond butter, honey and powdered sugar. Spoon about 1/2 a teaspoon of the almond butter mixture into the cups, on top of the chocolate layer. Lastly, reheat the chocolate over the double broiler, and spoon a little over the top of each cup (do not overfill the cups), and sprinkle the flaky salt over top of each. Place back in the fridge or freeze to set. Remove from the fridge or freezer about 10 minutes before serving.

woke up early to make my man these blueberry tigernut flour pancakes (recipe below) before his half marathon this morning, with the soundtrack to A Star Is Born in the background (because I saw it on Friday night and I can’t seem to get enough of the Bradley Cooper / Lada Gaga duo😭) now Bayley🐾 + I are off to the finish line to cheer our guy on! And, it finally feels like Fall.... all really good Sunday things

Tigernut Pancakes:
2 eggs
1/2 cup of nut milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1 cup of tigernut flour
1/2 cup of almond flour
a pinch of salt
Butter, ghee or coconut oil for cooking
Whisk together the wet ingredients in a bowl, then whisk in the dry. Heat the butter in a cast iron over medium heat, ladle the batter into the pan (2-3 at a time, but don’t crowd the pan) and cook those pancakes as you do, flipping after a couple of minutes. Top with your favorite pancake toppings.
